Despite what some people may say, marijuana is not harmless.

marijuana-795-597 Marijuana smoke contains over 400 chemicals; many of these are the same harmful chemicals found in tobacco smoke . Using marijuana can harm your lungs. It can also increase your risk for these diseases:

  • Chronic cough
  • Recurring lung infections
  • Cancer of the head and neck
  • Heart disease
  • Memory loss
  • Learning problems
  • Accidents
  • Mental health problems

Babies born to mothers who smoke marijuana can have health problems, including low birth weight and prematurity.
